On Saturday last when I left the house to photograph Natalee and David's wedding it was blowing a gale and absolutely chucking it down! I wasn't hopeful at all that we would get to use the excellent outdoor space at the Hotel for group or couple portraits - I needn't have feared though as right on Q the weather cleared and afforded perfect light and dry conditions, albeit still a little chilly. As the song says though..., two out of three ain't bad!
When I arrived the girls were in the Treehouse and well on with their hair and makeup. The small bathroom had a great window which provided a lovely diffused light source and as such the makeup girl had set her stall in there. I'm really thrilled with the images captured using the natural light from this window and it really showed both the skill of the makeup artist and the natural beauty of Natalee to full effect.
It's amazing how time flies when you are having fun and before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to get going. While Natalee had left in the Bridal car to pick up her dad John, I headed in to meet David and his best man Andrew to get a few shots. The ceremony was delayed for a short spell due to some guests having a breakdown on the motorway and as you can see from the images one little chap felt the need for a nap. Clearly picking the best spot to make sure he wouldn't miss any of the action though! Once all the absent guests had arrived, Natalee was piped in by the wonderful Neil Beaton and the ceremony was conducted by Julie and included a lovely tying of tartans as part of the proceedings. Some excellent speeches followed and the festivities hit full swing after the meal with a cracking dance. Natalee and David were such great fun to photograph and once again I couldn't help but feel part of the family as I joined in and shared their day.
As well as heartfelt congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Scott, I have great pleasure in presenting a selection of teaser images from the day - enjoy x
