Laura & Tom's Wedding @ Cornhill House Hotel, Biggar
On the 16th August I had the pleasure of sharing in Laura & Tom's special day at the Cornhill House Hotel near Biggar. Weather and Venue were absolutely fantastic and so the stage was set for a great day!
I arrived just as Angela Shaw the hair and makeup artist was setting up shop and took the opportunity to capture some shots of the girls getting ready, while I awaited the arrival of Tom and his best man James.
It was great having the Hotel more or less to ourselves. I was also really impressed with Laura's handy work as she made an amazing bride and groom for the cake!
One of the shots Laura and Tom had requested was a group shot of all guests gathered around the fountain in the hotel grounds and photographed from above - the hotel was very helpful in showing me to the best room, although I hadn't quite factored how broad the window ledge's are in these old country houses and had to climb out a fair bit to get the shot!
Before I knew it, the ceremony, group shots and speeches were all over. After an amazing sunset the cake was cut and the dancing began. I'm starting to add in off camera flash techniques to add a further dimension to the portraits and it was great to find an excellent gazebo at Cornhill for this purpose.
A heartfelt best wishes to Tom and Laura who are an absolutely smashing couple, so here's to their new beginning as Mr & Mrs xx
